Rhodium electroplating also improves a material's resistance to corrosion, enabling it to retain its brightness and improve its durability in many types of atmospheric conditions. It is important that all surface imperfections are removed prior to rhodium electroplating, as the process can actually make these defects show more clearly. Rhodium electroplating may also be used with silver or copper and their various alloys.
